Pomodoro Timer Online

Focus for 25 minutes, rest for 5, and take a longer break after four rounds. Change the lengths if 25 is not your number.

How the timer works

  1. Pick one task and write it down before you press Start.
  2. Focus until the alarm. The default is 25 minutes, and you can change it below the clock.
  3. Take the break. Five minutes for a short break; after every fourth focus session the timer moves to the long break (15 minutes by default).
  4. Repeat. The counter shows how many focus sessions you finished today. It resets the next day.

The countdown uses your device clock, so it stays accurate if the tab is in the background. Keep the tab open. The timer shows the time left in the tab title and plays a short beep at the end, so turn your sound on.

Does it have to be 25 minutes?

No. 25 minutes with a 5 minute break is the classic format of the Pomodoro Technique, created by Francesco Cirillo. Many people use longer sessions, such as 50 minutes with a 10 minute break, for deep work or study. Start with 25 and adjust once you know how your attention behaves. The full method, including what to do with interruptions, is in the Pomodoro technique guide.

FAQ

Is this Pomodoro timer free?

Yes. No account, no ads in the tool, and it works on phones and computers.

Is my data stored?

Only your timer lengths and today's count, in your own browser's local storage. Nothing is sent to a server.

Why did I not hear the alarm?

Check that your device is not muted and that the browser tab is allowed to play sound. Keep the tab open, and use the tab title countdown as a second signal.

How many Pomodoros should I do in a day?

There is no right number. Start with the number you can finish without rushing, then watch the daily count for a week and adjust.
