Eisenhower Matrix Online

Type your tasks, tick urgent and important, and see what to do now, what to schedule, what to hand off and what to drop.

How to use the matrix

  1. Write every task you are carrying. Do not sort yet. Add them one by one in the box above.
  2. Ask two questions per task. Does it have a deadline that is close or someone waiting on it today (urgent)? Does it move something you care about forward (important)? Tick the boxes that are true.
  3. Read the four boxes from the top left. "Do now" first, then "Schedule", which is where most of your real progress lives.
  4. Act on the other two. Hand off what is urgent but not important, and give yourself permission to drop what is neither.

Your tasks are saved only in this browser (local storage). Nothing is sent to a server, and clearing your browser data removes them.

A quick example

  • Do now: send the invoice that is due today, fix the bug a customer is waiting on.
  • Schedule: a weekly workout, planning next quarter, calling a friend you keep postponing.
  • Delegate: booking a meeting room, an email that someone else can answer.
  • Drop: scrolling through a feed, replying to every group chat message right away.

Are my tasks uploaded anywhere?

No. The matrix runs in your browser and saves to local storage on your device only.

What is the difference between urgent and important?
